Mukdenia rossii

This rugged woodland perennial features bold, fan-shaped leaves that emerge a bright green before developing dramatic crimson-red edges that bleed toward the center as summer progresses. In early spring, delicate panicles of white, bell-shaped flowers rise above the foliage, providing a soft contrast to the heavy, leathery texture of the maturing leaves.
